Manuel Uguarte And His Impact On The Team

From the moment the transfer window opened last month, every single United fans has certainly been eagerly waiting to see the new name the club will sign in midfield to replace the aging Casemiro, names like Sander Berge and Yosouf Fofana have been brought up, but Ugarte has always been regarded as choice number 1,2 and 3 as Fabrizio Romano pointed out. A destroyer in midfield, he is the perfect replacement for Casemiro, a player who will provide cover for the defence and be the center of the team's rest defence structure as Casemiro was two seasons ago. Having had the most tacles in the domestic leagues his palyed in, with over 100 tackles in both the French League and Portuguese League in the last two seasons, United fans will expect to not see the midfield been run through like knife and butter which was a constant last season, apart from that, with Ugarte been played as a sole defensive midfielder should finally give Bruno Fernandes and Kobbie Mainoo license to go forward and play their best game without worrying about the back. For over 7yrs since Michael Carrick left the club, United have not had a defensive midfielder who will control the game and also stop counter attacks, Casemiro looked to be that player, but contrary to what most people think, he did not loose form but rather age cut up with him, this singular problem in midfield has hindered Bruno Fernandes our best player from playing his best game for over four seasons now. With a midfield of Uguarte, Mainoo and Fernandes we might just have one of the best midfields in the league if it all works out.

Ugarte's Influence On Casemiro's Form

As pointed out earlied Casemiro did not necessarily lose form but rather age caught up with him, he was needlessly been dribled through and his tackles where shrugged off easily unlike his first season in the club, but in this new season having had a run of games under his belt he looks to be in better shape and with the signing of Ugarte that will hopefully serve as extra motivation to work harder and get back to his best form as no player would like to lose his position in the starting eleven. If that does happen that will provide Ten Hag with a problem he will definetly appreciate even though most United fans will probably like to see Casemiro dropped as soon as possible.

A Big Change In Transfer Strategies

As important as new signings have been, what is even more commendable is United's activities in the transfer market this summer. With new executives like Dan Arshworth, Omar Berrada and Jason Wilcox joining the technical department of the club, we have seen a vast difference in United's transfer strategies, the club has signed five players, Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro, Noussair Mazraoui, De Ligt and Manuel Ugarte all without paying over 60 million for any player and most importantly this players will all strenght the spine of the team which was seriously weakened with injuries last season. Another important point is the signing of two extra players for the academy, the record holder Chido Obi-Martin and Mali talent Sekou Kone adding to the vast young talent at our disposal, if everything goes well this season will surely be better than the last.
